A Place for Growing Food, Community, & Each Other

Growing Veterans Nonprofit Farm, Est. 2012

Growing Veterans is thrilled to introduce our inaugural 100-day fundraising initiative! This fundraiser will run until Veterans Day, November 11th.

When you donate to Growing Veterans, you are not only creating a lasting opportunity for a veteran to heal, but you are also ensuring sustainable support throughout the year for veterans in need. Your contribution during this campaign will fuel our ongoing efforts to support those who have selflessly served our country.

By making your gift a monthly recurring donation, you can provide ongoing assistance for less than $1 a day. This reliable support helps us cultivate year-round hope within our community.

Together, let's honor our veterans and make a real difference in the lives of our heroes.

Together We Can End Isolation

100% of your donation supports our mission to grow food, community, & each other, as well as our vision to end the social isolation that can lead to suicide

THREE PILLARS

Our mission is to end isolation through creating purpose & belonging. We strive to accomplish this by growing food, community, and each other.

We change lives through harnessing the power of these three pillars in the following ways:

FOOD

We grow food, literally, out on our organic farm in Lynden, Washington and our outpost farm on Greenbank Whidbey Island, WA. You can register to join us on the farm during our weekly drop-in volunteer days (Wednedays - Fridays).

The majority of our food is donated to the Bellingham Food Bank & North Whidbey Help House- with the rest given to volunteers & interns.

COMMUNITY

We grow community through joining Veterans with individuals, businesses, & other groups throughout our region. Breaking isolation means strengthening the bridge between veteran & civilian communities. Inquire using our contact page for info on scheduling an upcoming outreach event, corporate volunteer day, farm tour, or other brand collaboration with the vets.

Our farm has the ability to grow organic produce such as hops, peppers, plant starts & other summer veggies.

EACH OTHER

We grow each other in multiple ways. While volunteering on the farm we deliver "Dirt Therapy" to one another. Both the soil on your hands & the sound of a friendly voice on the other side of the row have been shown to be a positive experience. We also deliver our research backed and accredited Peer Support Training(PST) multiple times a year. All staff & many of our interns have taken this training. Those trained in “PST” are taught to be a support system for all veterans & civilians who walk through our doors. Even more organic is the energy that flows amongst veterans and civilians from all walks of life and all ages that come together on our farm to simply be with one another; share stories, laugh, and interact in a way that is centered on growing things with our hands instead of destroying.

“While we are a veterans service organization, we are not a veterans club. Anyone who wants to be out on the farm is welcome. We are Growing Veterans.”

— Sean Dalgarn, Previous Growing Veterans Executive Director (2020-2023)
