Kenny was born in 1961, in South Dakota. He is the seventh of ten children. In 1983 he joined the U.S. Navy and was selected for Aviation Electronics School, then, Aircrew and Electronic Warfare Schools. Kenny has flown many thousands of hours as an Electronic Warfare Operator (EWOP). He taught aircraft safety, electronics, and electronic warfare systems during flight and at the Naval Air Technical Training Center at NAS Whidbey Island.
Kenny studied History while on active duty, often writing papers in the back of an aircraft during missions. He says that it gives one a profound feeling of history to observe a country in modern times while studying its ancient past. He retired from active duty in 2005, after 22 years of service.
After retirement, Kenny returned to Western Washington University, where he earned a second bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, then at the encouragement of his professors, friends, and wife, received his MBA in 2014. Kenny has an incredible wife of 32 years, Anita and has three adult children. Anna, age 30, Elena26, and David, age 24. He has served Growing Veterans in some capacity for two years.
